Limewire cannot connect behind Firewall

Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network. (not about connecting to files, that is a Download/Upload Problems section issue.) Please supply system details as described in the forum rules.

Be nice to know the other answers to the questions, such as if you are able to get to the site hosting port 6346 & which isp.

Port forwarding your device, start here:
1. This step must be done first: Static ip address setting for Vista

2. Port Forwarding Limewire on the Netgear WGR614v9

You may need to reboot computer after making these changes. Depends upon brand of device.

Make sure LW is set as an exception for your Vista firewall. If you have more than one firewall, then choose one, disable the other one.

If still problems, check If LW 5 Will Not Connect
