I am getting SO SICK of Limewire. Up until roughly one month ago I was able to use Limewire without any issues but recently it has just become an absolute waste of time. I have Limewire PRO, so I am extremely unhappy with the fact that I can not use something that I have paid money for.
My problems started when both Safari & Firefox stopped working wile Limewire was running. So, basically, if I had Limewire open in the background I could not surf the net. I contacted tech support only to be given very scripted answers on 3 occasions, when I finally got it through to them that I had ALREADY tried their suggestions they just gave me the first suggestion all over again. Ridiculous "support". Now the problem has gotten worse, Limewire will no longer connect!! The connection problems with Limewire itself only started yesterday. I have tried every fix that I can find online. I have uninstalled Limewire and started all over again from scratch only to have the same problems. CAN ANYONE HELP?!?! I'm on MAC OS X 10.5.8 and Limewire 5.2.13 Pro |

If it won't connect, try deleting the gnutella.net file whilst LW is closed, it must be closed. Replacing the gnutella.net file in the LW Preferences folder except with LW 5 you do not need to replace the gnutella.net file, simply only delete it. LW 5 upon re-starting will create a fresh healthy one itself. That image is simply to help show where to locate it.

Thanks for the reply but that was actually one of the things I tried very early on but it didn't help.

Did you make an exception for LW in your OSX firewall?
What brand & model of router do you have? Go to Tools menu -> Advanced .. what does it say at top about firewall? |
