![]() Hey guys. Just got a new computer with Windows 7. I also have the anti virus program AVG. I dl'ed the new basic Limewire and for some reason, it is not connected me to in the internet. Other programs, like ITunes, has the same problem. So i went to my firewall settings, and everything looks right, my firewall allows Limewire. And I checked AVG, and it looks ok. what am I doing wrong? |

![]() hey thanks for the advice. Sadly it did not work. I deleted AVG and am still experiencing the same problem with limewire and others. I assume is has to be something with my firewall or something. Do i have to do anything special with my internet connection? it works for browsing the internet so I assume that's not the problem. |

![]() I have still yet to figure out what the problem is. I have windows 7 and Both Limewire and ITunes cannot find my internet connection for some reason. I have no virus protection running and my firewall allows these programs. What is going on? |

![]() If iTunes also cannot find a connection, looks like these programs are being blocked by something, most likely a firewall. With your Windows Firewall, may I suggest you create sub-rules for these programs, allowing all ports access for each of UDP & TCP. With Windows Firewall you can create a sub-rule for each of TCP & UDP. Just adding a program alone might only add clearance for TCP. In the Firewall Exceptions tab, select LW, choose Add Port, then add UDP & a wide port range. I cannot find Dynex DX-D402 listed anywhere, even at the Dynex site. Did they sell this part of their business to another company because they no longer have modems listed as present products? I did find DX-E402 listed at portforward.com. Problem might be the Dynex router's NAT which acts like a firewall. You can try port forwarding the device to allow ports for LW to access through. Two main steps to achieve this. The first being important to do first. 1. Setting up Static ip address on Vista 2. Port forward the Dynex DX-E402. Unfortunately in the first step they show they use a LW 4 sample image. Instead see Manual port forward instructions & sample image for LW 5 sample image. Port LW uses for both connecting & listening need to be identical to the port(s) port forwarded. ![]() Note: If you have issues logging into the device as on those instructions, try ip log-in address http://192.168.2.1 and if their instructions for log-in page do not work, then leave the password blank and click Submit. After doing this you should save settings, reboot modem (generally done by unplugging power for a minute.) And also reboot computer. |

![]() Hi. I'm having a similar problem. I upgraded from Vista to Windows7, and am having issues connecting with any nonWindows program. I was running LW5 on Vista, but when I upgraded, it stopped working. I uninstalled/reinstalled several times, added it to Norton and Windows Firewall, but kept getting the error message about adding LW as a firewall exception/loopback connection. I uninstalled and downloaded FrostWire 4.18.5. Java didn't work after the upgrade, either, so I dowloaded that, and am running 6.0.170.4. I've searched the threads and tried what fixes I could, but still nothing. I have 4 GB of ram, and 3.75 GB available. I am connecting from home via dialup w/Earthlink and a Conexant PCI CX11252-41Z Soft Modem (I don't know if I am port forwarding or UpnP Enabled; I Searched for it, and it didn't come up). I am not sharing my connecting, and "my test worked." I uninstalled Norton, and am running Windows Firewall, but I can't connect w/FW even when I turn it off. I'm in the USA. I have tried support forums everywhere I could think of (Gateway, Microsoft, Earthlink), but can't get my issues fixed. Thank you. |
