I have been using Limewire for years and years. WHy suddenly does limewire break my wireless signal? Any suggestions?

you might be the victim of being DDOS'd by the 'good guys'...
I suggest the use of PeerGuardian2 to help mitigate this type of issue.. I've been having to use other blocklists than the ones supplied by default with PG2... http://www.iblocklist.com/lists.php don't know what the issue has been but the supplied ones won't make a connection for updates... there is also a spin off of PG2 that is available: http://devblog.peerblock.com/2009/08...ist-lists.html

Are you using LW to download torrents? If yes, the number of connections for popular files is possibly flooding your router. Wireless is not as reliable.
