Unless you used your program folder to download files to . should be no problem. Why not try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included 2nd last post of page.) Nothing to lose if you follow instructions. But most likely issues will be closer to being solved. You will need to redo your settings after doing this.

BTW is there any need to use such foul language? We are volunteers on this forum .. we are not LW. This forum supports many Gnutella network programs not only LW & is an independent site not owned or run by LW. We simply help to sort out general issues involving these softwares.

sorry i was in a really crappy mood when i first posted this up - have calmed down a bit now. long story but trying to handle a lot of stress at home atm.

anyway. just put up all the details asked for and got a bloody 404 page didnt i so i'm just going to, for now, try reinstalling the basic version and see if that helps.

i'm writing this without having read anyone's reply posts yet as i wanted to make sure i said this before reading any defensive posts and getting riled!

i'll put up the relevant details when i've dealt with these problems at home - probably in about a week or so. i do really appreciate any help, it's just really frustrating when you can't work out a problem and suddenly you find you've got about 15 windows open, not knowing where to look next.

i've just read back on the replies and would like to retract my apology. although i'd say it takes a wanker to know a wanker. yes i was after some help and figured someone with a slight bit of intelligence who isn't wanking over porn when they're not trolling about with their little cliques on here might have helped out. i can take a little bit of 'hey i know you're frustrated with your problem but people are less likely to help out if you're not calm' or something of that ilk. but i guess that's beyond the range of sociability around here. i don't actually think i was that bad, just obviously frustrated with the situation.

should have guessed really. you've obviously not been on enough forums to realise that these little power trips of ganging up on new people and reading every letter literally and being on the defensive before you've read anything and then playing the victim, and all the above is now very, very, very old. and i am confused as to why, if there are no "limewire employees" here. it must be absolutely wonderful to have been born knowing ****ing everything. gosh. i wish i was you. tell me this, do you know how to get a ****ing life?

We do not pretend to be experts, but do offer our experience in using LW. Many of us have used LW for a long time. I've used LW since v.2 back around 2002-03. Our advice may not always work or be the perfect fix but we try where we think we can to assist.

As for the forum help posts showing some displeasure, they were aimed at Redheadseeker's flaming angry response from what I can see.

Don't be nice to idiots LOTR. If they can't show the small amount of intelligence/decency to ask a normal question, then don't treat them as they did just that.

As for clairus99's reply. Do you really think we hang around here answering bullshit posts all day? my history's puclic. check it sometimes and put a sock in it while you're at it. In other words go cry into a pillow or smash your head into a wall.
