Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included 2nd last post of page.) First, make sure you backup the Downloads(.dat) file as mentioned.
![]() If this does not fix it, try points no. 5 & 6 below the above point #3.

Tried points 3, 5, and 6. None of them fixed the problems. Any other suggestions?

Does LW have an exception rule in the Windows firewall? You can manually add an exception rule. If you have updated LW recently maybe wise to remove old exception & add new one. Any changes to your security software or computer updates over past week or two? *Edit: it seems LW's Test page is presently down. Unable to get to Tools menu? If possible get to Tools -> Advanced & check for firewall message & see if any connections are attempting. Last edited by Lord of the Rings; July 25th, 2010 at 05:24 AM. |

no new updates, and the exception for LW is still there. It is permitted to connect and let pass through. No other new updates or anything.

Try this, set up a new account on your computer, call it Test. Run LW from there & see if same problem. If not, then the problem is limited to your main account at least. Then it would be a process of trying to discover the cause.

I fixed the problem, I uninstalled Java and then went to Java.com and redownloaded the app. Fixed the problem, I now have LW back and running. Thanks for all the help.
