Unhappy downloads wont resume

have downloaded the recent version 2.4.4 and my downloads are still not resuming where they left off with this version as it states it will. i recently dumped an older version because of this fact as it just eats up all my megs my provider allows me for the month
can anything be done to stop this or should i give up and try something else
can anyone suggest any other programs as i used to use morpheus but since it crashed it was useless and they havent brought out a new version yet, thanks.

havent deleted anything, downloaded 2.4.4 into a folder and installed it from there.
not sure what you mean by download .dat ,is this within the program itself or what, have gone through all the option tabs and cant find anything to help maintain the downloads even checked back on the website actually sais the latest version is 2.4.1 but that is what i downloaded and ended up with 2.4.4 so dont know where im at

Ok.

You can resume files by clicking "download", and if they have the EXACT same name and the EXACT same size, they will be resumed (if they are still in the "incomplete" folder). Note that the filename is case sensitive.

P.S: Download.dat is located in your incomplete folder, and it contains the data needed to resume the download.
