Question Bandwidth tails off with time

Im using cable/DSL with 600kbps bandwidth, I regularly get 60-90Kps downloads on most sites/peers, but when I download with LimeWire the downloads rarely reach 20 kps and usually tail off after 50% to 1-4kps.
How come bandwidth tails off ?

Bizarre

Don't forget that the uploaders need bandwidth too, and that they don't upload only to you.

Default Bandwidth tailing off

Yeah true, I understand this. It is quite odd how the bandwidth tail off is very predictable, haven't you ever wondered? Its fairly consistent, besides it doesn't ever go the other way, i.e. bandwidth increases with time. Which if it were down to uploader/downloader traffic should occur just as often.

Maybe after some time limewire finds new sources?

I have noticed that if you restart the program you will go right back up to the speed that you had at first. I hate to do this but it seems to work. Also if you are using an older version of Lime wire and have to many connections this will slow you down. Just my two cents worth.

I use Limewire Pro and am fully upgraded.
I AGREE. Limewire has a propensity to tail off with time. NOT, NOT, NOT IMPROVE with time. And if you disconnect and restart it goes back up again. Poor use of resources
And the lousy excuses given re other people needing space as well do not wash. Why is it always in the same direction namely "DOWN, DOWN, DOWN"
Chummy
