![]() I can't seem to get but a fraction of the songs that I want, so I went over to Audio Galaxy, where I was in heaven. Everything you could imagine, available for the clicking. I was so spoiled. They they cut the music, so I was forced to crawl back to LimeWire. Well, I remember why I left, as not only do only a fraction of the files I want download, the selections are pathetic. Now I got almost 100 files waiting to be downloaded & gee, I get 1 or 2 of them every day or 3. This is a joke... Then I try and share my 10,000+ songs, and the program can't be touched for some time, as it tries to count over 10,000 songs. So not only can't I get all the music I want, I can't share all my files, as the program chokes & caughts & can't keep up. Am I the only person who has these same issues, or are there any others with similar problems? I also can't quit the program in OSX. I have to force quit every time. Stinks. |

![]() Hi... I'm moving this to the downloading problems section I'm sorry you've been having difficulty using the software. I think that once you get used to the Gnutella network, you'll be happier with the LimeWire software. Unlike audiogalaxy, LimeWire is not designed to take days or weeks to seek out your files. Since Audiogalaxy was a centralized system, it could track when users were online, and what IP address it used. On the Gnutella network, your client knows only the IP where the computer that had the file was. If that computer signs off, it likely will have a different IP address when it comes back on. Therefore it will be difficult to get the file on a requery. On the other hand, Gnutella clients, like LimeWire, offer much greater flexibility for file searching. For example, if a download is going slowly, you can just pick another computer to download it from. If none of the hosts that came up in the search are acceptable, you can do a re-search. It never takes me more than 2 or 3 minutes to download a file over LimeWire, compared with several days on Audiogalaxy. Good Luck, Avi |

![]() Well, in a way you are right, it's just that it seems I have to keep re-trying to get the music I want. I was spoiled with just doing it once. I can wait, if it shows up. I was deleting all retrys, and I figured I should keep them going, but the list is getting bigger & bigger, and now it gets one or 2 per day, so I guess I have to re-search. I found the force quitting problem is related to the shutdown settings, so I am now down to re-introducing my large library, so I we can grow this thing to something better. I urge all users to do a few things. 1. Share more! 2. Kick off the non limewire servers in the connection window. Increase it to 6 if you can. Otherwise, be agressive in only shareing with limewire servers. Kick the leeches off! 3. Have fun! XOX Big JiLm |
