Question Requery?

I just downloaded Limewire for the first time; all I get when trying to download is the message "connecting" followed shortly thereafter with "requery sent, waiting..." Why does this happen?

Yeah, I'm not sure what that is either, but you should get some downloads to work; it seems to be similar to the busy signal...

This has been answered many times in this forum... try the search function.

Requery occurs when the source system is not available for the file you requested ... requery indicates it is looking for another exact match to the file you requested and will resume downloading if located.... often this fails since an EXACT match may not be found... the best solution is to do another search for the file you are seekeing and select an alternative source.

Hello!

But remember only once every 45 minutes a requery will actually be sent so it can take many hours before a match of the file is found so be very patient. But if you manually re-search for the file by doing multiple searches and a matching file is found in the search result then LimeWire will make an attempt to connect to that host and if you are lucky you will get the file.

The Requery Sent message has nothing in common with the busy signal. If you get a busy signal you are still in touch with that host and if you are willing to wait long enough you will be receiving a http 200 OK message from that host and the transfer will begin.
