I don't know what "save to playlist" means in Limewire. In order to share your music, designate your completed folder as your shared folder. You can do this in Limewire's preferences.

how does one force the IP of the router?

[If you are using NAT (meaning that the IP address of your machine is 10.x.x.x or 192.x.x.x ) now, might be able to connect, search and download from the network but no one will be able to upload from you. If you have taken the advise of others to force your IP using limewire then your half way there, as your port forwarding is working correctly. But, you need to FORCE THE IP OF YOUR ROUTER or FIREWALL to the network. ]

So, how do I do this?

Thank you,
Karin

how does one force the IP of the router?

Now that I checked-marked "force IP", what do I do? I get a lot of hits, but not even one upload. I also tried keying in my IP number, but it wouldn't let me key in the whole thing. So which digits do I key in? I keyed in the last five, having no idea if that was the right thing to do.

Thanks,
Karin

I believe the box next to force IP are now only for the port being forced, not the IP address. The default port number should be 6346. LW now automatically reads the IP that should be forced.

Then why do I get a pop-up window that says "You must enter a port between 1 and 65535 for forcing your ip address."? What port number do I put in the box? I guess the ip number doesn't go there. Isn't the ip number the same thing as the port number?

Thanks,
Karin

No. As I said, you put in the port number, which is 6346.

Your IP number is a different number than your port number. Your ports on your computer are the methods by which information is transferred. Your IP address is broadcasted and gnutella messages are direceted to go to port 6346 in that broadcast.

Thanks. I will try that right now.

uploading problem

Well, that didn't work either. Now what? Is it that anyone with an IP of 10xxx can't upload files? I mean, I can download all the files I want, I just can't upload.

O.k. Ignore all of the previous messages. I looked at my computer and saw that I had sharing turned off in my preferences.

Thanks anyway,
Karin

But now when I look at the "library window" it says Uploads 0/0. I guess I just can't figure this out! Why is it that Kazaa is so simple and user friendly, and this is sooo difficult?!
