A pretty fair share of the music I've downloaded -mostly newer stuff- sounds over saturated and distorted. Much like the original recording levels were set too high.

Try downloading edited...no copywritted materials are discussed, and you'll hear what I mean.

I'm not sure that any help I could provide will solve this problem for you as it is a problem with the quality of content. That is not specifically a limewire problem but rather a problem that orginates with the person who ripped the songs.

Post Improving Download Speed
With a 28.8Kbps modem. There is not a whole lot you can do to improve your download speed. Think about it this way it will take you 5-6 minutes to download 1MB of data. Therefore, if you are trying to download a file larger than that your download time will be equal to 5 Minutes * NumberOfMegaBytes. A person in this situation has two options.

#1 Download small files.

#2 Get broadband.
