I've tried to download many programs and every time it finishes, If it even finishes, It says "could not move to library"... I need these programs in 2 days and LimeWire is really frustrating me! I would like an answer fast! Otherwise I'll just delete it and try another system that WORKS!

This is slow and un-trusty..
so if you have a better way .. try that instead. I am also very angry at this slow-loading /never-loading system with a lot of downloads (visually at least) but nothing happens.. And if something happens.. the file normally ends up "couldn't move to library - it happens to all my files bigger than 1 mb. |

I am having the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks! Joe |

you will get that message everytime if the file name contains some character your OS can't use in a filename (like ? or / or \ in windows) The only time I ever get that message is when I try to download files with ? or some other unusual character in the name

The problem is, that the COULD_NOT_MOVE_TO_LIBRARY error can also appear when swarming from an alternate location. I already submitted a patch for it to LimeWire last weekend and I hope it'll make it into LW 3.0.

I got a work-around for this, if not a solution.
In Options, mine is set to NOT remove completed files. Not sure how this affects the incomplete file, but it works. When I get a file that won't move to library, I remove it from the download list, goto the Library>Incomplete, locate and click the file to highlight it, then click Resume Download. Works about 95% of the time. |
