Question Red IP Addresses

Why have some of the IP addresses that show up on queries started being in red type. Is there some significance in the red?

I'm not sure but I think red IPs mean that it's connection speed isn't the one it is said while green IPs have the correct speed.

For instance, if you have a dialup 56k and you set your connection speed to cable, then your IP will appear red to others but if you set your speed to 56k, then your IP will be green.

Hello!

The red IP address means that that IP belongs to a private subnetwork behind a NAT router. If you are also behind a NAT FireWall/Router then you will not be able to communicate with that node/servent. If you however is not FireWalled then there is no such problem. When you send a request for a file to that host LW or another client at that host will give out a push request to the Router and start to initiate the download from behind the Router and send it to you.

If the Connection speed indicators (Modem,Cable,T-1,T-3) are green it means that LW is more sure that the settings that the specific servent has set in his/hers preferences are more likely to be correct information. If they are black it means that LW remains neutral in desciding the speed and if the color are red it is a very high probability that the client are lying and are in reality a slower servent as far as connection speed is concerned.
