Is there a way to refine a search to exclude certain results?
Maybe by using BOOLEAN operators?

For example: I am searching for David Crosby solo (not with Crosby Stills and Nash). But, I get many results including David Bowie and Bing Crosby singing "Little Drummer Boy". Don't want 'em!

Can I instruct the search to exclude "Bowie" and "Bing" somehow?

I'm searching for Dion (as in the 50's Dion and the Belmonts) but of course I get mainly hits for Celine Dion.

Can't I search for Dion, not Celine somehow?

You can go to options or preferences > filters > words, and exclude desired words from your search. afaik these filters only apply to the "name" column, so will not be 100% successful.
