![]() Hey Guys, As a solution in the options menu under Filters > Hosts put just type in what most of the IP addresses are that you are block like this: 33.*.*.* and it will remove all the results from that. I've had to block 33 and 66 and it removes ALL T3 connections! Jake |

![]() Is there any way to block based on the vendor/agent string? All of the corrupt files I seem to get are listed as "Gnucleus 2.0.1.0 (GnucDNA 1.0.2.6)", afaik Gnucleus is at a higher version than this, 2.0.8.0 or something. I've noticed 3 things with corrupt files: 1) "T3" conection 2) same file size is listed as almost every bitrate from 128-320 3) Gnucleus 2.0.1.0 vendor string |

![]() Hi, I'm both a newbie at Limewire as well as participating in message boards, but after having read through many of the discussions looking for a solution to my problem, I still find myself with questions that need answers... I get the whole T3 thing which of course sucks in the first place, but my problem is that after finding that out and then starting to look for different sources such as cable or modem users as alternatives when wanting to download a "new" or "popular" file I find myself with a whole new set of problems... Here is the thing; When I find an alternative source through changing my ways of searching they usually are single sources, (no number of sources attached to it), but when trying to download such a file, what usually happens is that Limewire tells me I need more sources... So I push the find-more-sources button, over and over... but after a while the message "file could not be downloaded" almost always comes up... How do you download a file from a single source that ought to have like tons of sources considering how so many users like me must be searching for these rare files when the alternative always are these tons of corrupted T3 files? I totally don't care if it takes time to download from a modem for instance, but what is the purpose of file sharing when a file never seems to be able to be downloaded unless there already are loads of sources behind it? I mean every file must at one time have been the first? I don't know, or maybe I'm just a dumb newbie, but there seems to me that if one is to get around the corrupted T3 files people should be able to download from the ones that aren't? I'm greatful for any help or insight into this problem as you out there can share... |

![]() Answer to those corrupted files ![]() hey guys, i had that problem where all the files you download are corrupted. i actually ahd the problem twice (i dont remember how i fixed it the first time... ![]() i read in a previous thread that if you blocked hosts 33.*.*.* and 66.*.*.* T3 connections would be blocked... i dont know why but it doesnt work with me... --- Decoy |

I have the same corrupt files problem, especially on new popular songs that have hundreds of files available, so I believe the theory of the industry flooding us w/ corrupt files. I've noticed the T3 thing (but I agree there are still some good T3 files out there). I've come up with two ways to tell which files to avoid: 1. Lord of the Rings' bitrate anomaly. 2. If you hover your pointer over the individual file in your Search window (at least in my old ver of Limewire on Mac OS 9) until you get a popup graphic of the file's mp3 tags, the corrupt files are always missing the time "length". -longjump |

![]() To determine a real T3 connection, right click on the file you want to download and hit browse host. If it is a corrupt file, the result will say Error: could not browse host. In my experience, only hosts with this error message provide corrupt files. Sometimes, files with search results will be corrupt,(but the files withing the browse host results are legit for some reason!) but a host with the error message always seems to be providing corrupt files. ![]() dont know why it worked but...... I searched for 2 weeks for a track and downloaded every version i got thru the search and every single one was corrupt and then I found a way round it. Instead of searching for artist and track I just searched for the artist and then selected the track from the search results....got the track no problem and I have done this ever since and not had another single corrupt track. Like I say, I've got no idea WHY it would work, but it did for me.... maybe worth a try? |

![]() I tried what guestblahblahblah said and it worked!!! I have been trying to get music for weeks now and it all seems to be corrupt even the older music so that wasnt it. and finally this worked I just put in the artist without the song title. I did get one or towo corrupt still but mostly I got the song. Great Idea!I thank you sooooo much for figuring this out. |

![]() well guys im having the same prob. heres what i come up with. last night i downloaded 2 songs no prob. today i tried and cant get anything but corrupt files. now i have a natted connection but it always worked fine. i pay extra for a static ip. so i can get on with 2 different ways. i can choose static or the tower ip(everyone on the tower shows the same ip). when i use the tower ip now i get corrupt files now, but when i switch to my static ip i can get any file i want with no corrution. is it possible for my isp to be causing the corrupt files? i cant even really get connect to anyone unless i use my staic ip. |
