Hi
I Have a large file that is 96% done and having trouble finishing it. The funny thing is that my partner sitting next to me has it, but, when I click find more sources it never finds it on his computer!. Seems I have to wait till the origional sharer gets on line again? We share broadband through a 4 connection shared modem We both have the same computer systems etc. Any ideas?? Thanks yol |

That's an issue we seem to have to live with. Perhaps as the Gnutella netwk improves & LW makes the most of it, we'll hopefully see it happening less. (Add to that the increasing popularity of Gnutella & thus larger no's of sources.)
Why not ask your partner to burn/copy to zip or something for you. Then if you add that to your shared folders, you've increased the sources available 4 others. Somebody else on the forum might have an answer. It's annoying having a file almost complete & difficult to find sources! All I can really suggest is that you continually search & use as many variations of search criteria as you can. Personally I only have a dial-up, so I have same issues. Hey, hey, wait. I was told (by a LW forum veteran) that continuously hammering the net with the same search only slows it down, so heed Lord's advice but only do a search (of the same file) every half hour or so.

Personally no I don't know. But if you use the new version (still in beta stage), you will be able to connect easily with each other! See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=27255 which discusses this in the present beta.
