What models of modem & router do you use? Instructions (or links to) can be found here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=25119 If you can provide further details perhaps we can help you thru the steps. Within LW you'd need to enter the port you'er using for LW into BOTH the Port option & Firewall port option & tick the Force IP option. These can be found under LW's menu Tools-Options-Advanced & both the Port & Firewall options.

I have a NetComm NB1300 ADSL modem, no router.

See here for NetComm NB1300: http://portforward.com/netcomm/nb130...forwarding.htm

Can I try the Force IP option on it's own, or does it have to be done after port forwarding?

You can try it, but the blockage is probably in your device. You need to do both! In LW go to menu Tools-Options-Advanced & in both Port & Firewall, enter the same port no. (Use 6346 but must be the same as the one you use for port forwarding on your device!) & tick the option box for Force IP. Press both the Apply & OK buttons.

Have set up a static ip address so I can use port forwarding. When I enter my ip address into my browser (to set up port fwd), I get a problem report saying the system was unable to communicate with the server(TCP error).
Since making changes, there have been ch ch changes in the numbers in the 'locations' column of my library. Originally all zeroes, they all became ones & now are twos. ?? Make it so, number two!
Will try to continue with port fwd & see what happens.
My brain hurts.

I don't know what the no.'s in location represent. I have at least one with 1 & the rest seem to be zero with a quick look but I've so many folders it'd take foreveer to check them all. Have you had any hits? et voilą might know what's going on there.

LW user guide says:"Locations (number of hosts from which you downloaded the file + number of hosts to whom the file has been
uploaded)".
Yes, I've had lots of hits( up to 53 on some stuff ) but no uploads yet. The numbers in the locations column are now 5.

Have you checked your statistics & advanced stats? Also do another Bug Report & is Received incoming this session: True? And just above that, Number of Active Uploads: ? Number of Queued Uploads: ?

birdy November 10th, 2004 04:56 AM

OK, 'recieved incoming this session' is false.
Queued uploads = 0
Active uploads = 1(yippee)

In advanced stats: only looked at uploads
Requests URN get total = 22
Responses normal total = 22
Request methods get total = 22
General - completed responses = 1
completed file transactions = 1

Does this mean anything?? Still can't do port fwd, will try again tomorrow.
