xp firewall preventing downloads from me

I am running winxp sp2 with only the win firewall. Have checked "Recieved incoming this session" which reads 'false' so I know others can't get thru the firewall to download from me. Have opened TCP & UDP ports as described in LW user guide. what else can I do so that people can download from me??
Please help! Basic terms please, am clueless when it comes to this stuff.

Have you tried completely disabling it just to see if LW will connect?
Were are you trying to connect from? Home? Work? University?

Am connecting from home, my connection is fine...usually"excellent". Yes, I have turned off the firewall but still no-one can download. I'm sure they're trying as there have been so many hits on my music.

What type of connection do you have & does it include a router? What models of devices do you use? For you to be able to dwnld but people having difficulty dwnlding from you sounds like a router issue. To my limited knowledge firewalls tend to limit both ways. (Just out of curiousity which patch did you use for SP2, was it the MS one or one of the others?)

I have ADSL connection. No router. Modem.Speeds 1.5Mbps downstream, 256Kbps upstream.
I used the MS patch.

Try changing the port in Lw (and of course in your firewall too). Try something like 10500

Could you explain how to do this, please?

Ok, ignore my last post. Have changed ports in Limewire & firewall to 10500... will see what happens.

What type of firewall are you using? XP has one, do you hve another like Norton or something? (You may also need to port forward.)

I have only the win firewall. If I need to port fwd I'll need some instructions!
