Default Never Ending Downloads?

Sorry if this has been addressed before:

What`s the deal with files that download 100% but then restart at a certain point & continue downloading but never actually complete?

Corrupt files?

If anyone gets this problem - I worked out two simple solutions. Just shutdown Limewire & restart then conduct a search or hit force resume (So much for an auto resume feature).Also- you could just kill the download at 99% & drag the file from your `incomplete folder` but risk missing chunks off the end or a file which is particially incomplete throughout.

Cant believe nobody else seems to have experienced this, very strange. Plenty of thread views though.

This has happened to me too. I'm downloading a song and BOOM it reaches 100% five times and starts over at like 58, 68,89% and then just restarts at 100 again. Does anyone else know about this problem and have anymore tips.

Could you both mention what Gnutella Network clients were UpLoading to you ? In other words, were you DownLoading from another LW user or BearShare or Shareaza or what ???

Also, it is worth having a bit of a study on how files are now transferred......

In the vast majority of cases you do not DownLoad a file in sequential order starting from the 'first notes of a song', for example...

If you were D/Ling the alphabet, you would almost certainly NOT start with the letter 'A' !
It may be downloaded in the order - Z,F,J,Y,C,W,I,P... and so forth... this is also a partial cause of so-called 'problems' when trying to 'preview' an incomplete file -
And, with some clients you will not be receiving exactly the most precise info re: the progress of a file transfer.
