Hmm interesting. Perhaps you may need to wait until next time you open LW. How large are these video files? They are hopefully 500+MB in size.

ummm? no. sc*ry movie is 149.6 MB the other one is about 30,000 KB is this bad?

Well, if you're only going to watch them on the computer then they should be fine. The 30MB one sounds suspicious. Are you sure they're complete movies? For people who want to burn them they should be aiming at files that are about CD size.

There's a lot of fakes out there & some are corrupt. Which is another reason to aim at the larger sized files. One of these reasons could explain why you can't play them. If VLC can't play them then there's definitely something wrong somewhere.

Once you've dwnlded them, try opening them directly with VLC (not launching them thru LW.) This will tell you one way or another whether these are reasonable files or not. If yu can't open them then they're corrupt most likely.

the 30MB is a music video, so how do i open it directaly in VLC?

Find the path of your LW dwnld folder: Tools>Options>Saving & that will tell you the name, location & path of the LW dwnld folder. Within VLC, select File>Open & direct it to that folder. ALternatively you could drag the video file to the desktop & open it from there OR even try drag & drop the file onto VLC (I think that'll work in windows - purely a guess.) VLC can also play a number of audio formats by the way.

oh well, im just going to forget about watching movies, at least i can listen to music :)

Lord of the Rings December 13th, 2004 04:22 PM

You mean you still can't watch the movie? VLC should be fine to play it.
You should be warned, that just once in a while, an mpeg turns out to be an mp3 (ie: there's not video but if y change the extension to mp3 all's well.) If you were to try anything like that , I'd back up the ifles 1st!!!
