That's not healthy! Houston we are working on the problem! Keep in contact!

Try Fixes for Limewire

Which version of LW are you using?

The file should not disappear from the downld list. How many files are on your downld list?

It might be best to update to LW 4.4.1 if the other fixes don't work for you.

Forcing Resume on a file does have the side-effect of the file starting from zero. It's best to not force resume it but search the file again, & select it to downld again.

Well 15 is certainly not too many. I did wonder about the version. Th older LW versions tended to be more subceptible to corrupted downld preferences. Unless you're using a pro version you might consider updating. There's been many improvements & additions since LW 3. There is no longer an international installer. Both had multilingual anyway. Only one: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml (You can set it to spanish at the moment you open the installer.)
