Connected but seaches retrieve nothing

I have Limewire pro, now version 4.4.5, and I am sure that it has worked OK at some time in the recent past, but now when I log on it shows "connected" and "turbo-charged" and "sharing files", but when I do a search, even for Elvis, or what's new, it returns nothing....I am running Windows XP, connected via cable to the internet although it is through a wireless router. I have tried a few of the fixes for connection problems and I have also turned off my windows firewall without success.
I have written support several times without an answer so here I am....Thank you

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:

1. What firewalls you have?
2. ram?
3. HDD space available?
4. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
5. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
6. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
These details are vital if you want us to find out what your connection problem is.

1st suggestion is to try these: Fixes for Limewire

I am connecting via a cable modem RCA model #DCM105 , it is a broadband connection. I have 512 mb of RAM and plenty of hard drive space (several gigs). My firewall is through my Linksys wireless router and I have changed nothing with that since last successful downloads. I am connecting from home.
Thank you,
Da Slug

same problem

I am having the same problem lately. I'm connected, turbo charged, and the searches start out OK, files coming into the queue. But then suddenly files stop coming in. I'll try another search, for something that would normally produce hundreds of files, but nothing comes in. Just started happening recently. Am running Windows ME with an RCA cable modem

Just a little additional...I thought maybe my Linksys router may be causing this, but I disconnect that and it is still doing it, or not doing it whatever it is...also my daughter tried Bearshare on our network and it did not work either so I guess it is a problem with my machine or maybe my ISP....

WHich ISP is it?

There had been a recent inrush of users from Insight which is a Limewire blocker
Comcast is another that apparently has been guilty in the past. And Cox & EURO1NET & TISCALI are also in this. Of course Cox doesn't seem to apply to all users but just selected one.

If it's not your isp then there might be something wrong with your configuration to allow LW access.

Umm that doesn't sound good. I just had a suspicion due to your problem. Click on the links I left in my previous post.
