HELP, 0kb/s download rate

I'm having problem downloading. My download rate is 0kb/s. While my upload can be up to 20kb/s. I'm downloading a very popular file. From about 300 hosts. Yet, My download starts at 1 kb/s then stops at 0 kb/s. I opened my firewall. I'm very sure i'm not behind firewall. I tried reinstalling limewire. I'm using the latest version 4.8.1. That does't quite fixed it. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.

Anyone whos having the same problem or knows how to solve it, plz email me at

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Fixes for Limewire

See: search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities.

LotR, I tried all of the solutions. I even tried deleting the .limewire folder. But it just became slower than ever, now its 1 kb per download, and im sharing 600 files.

Are you downlding off other LW users or is it Shareraza (Raza) clients or others. Raza is known to be very slow!

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider?
10. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.

Hmmm just a thought

In winXP start>control panel>network connections --- highlight the connection ---- under network tasks click repair this connection.

That will repair the connection, and may allow you to connect and d/l

keep us informed
