![]() hi can anyone help me ...I am new to lime and music and movie downloads ....only just got broadband in my area....and I am a silversurfer to boot... I have only downloaded 2 movie's ...one turns out to be in .avi format ......and I cannot find a player to play it...I have searched the net and all I have downloaded wont touch it...some say I have not the correct codec's???? installed on my machine....Ihave down loaded the all in one codec and that makes no difference... the second movie is in ms/x-video.....and this wont play either let alone transfer it to disc........as any one else had the same problem....or am i just unlucky....... ps my music downloads are fine.... |

![]() Try VLC (has in-built codecs): http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose nearest mirror site) but if you want to preview from LW then you'll need to make it your default program for those particular video formats: Setting Default video app I'm not sure about the x-video. It could be XviD (http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Xvid+codec) which can be obtained here: http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/ but I don't know it that's the format that the extension suggests. I think online video stores might offer that format. |
