QueenIria do this test for us: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? If false then either your firewall or your router are not configured properly.

(advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); config instructions: Firewall configuration instructions

You can check for your uplds & hits (hits are searches that have found your files) in the Library window far right columns. Overall figures can be found in statistics (Tools>Statistics)

uh oh... its false >.<
well the firewall allows LW so its probably back to the router... and i dont need to tamper with port forwarding cos my router has UPnP... any ideas?

A false incoming report means it'd be extremely difficult for anyone to upld from you. The 2 areas it normally happens are the firewall or the modem/router. Can you tell us which firewall(s) & brand & model of modem/router you use? Also which Operating System version you're using?

A false incoming will also make it almost impossible for you to use Direct Connect, etc.

OK so your XP firewall is inactive. Double-check your firewall settings here: Configuring Norton Internet Security If you still get a false incoming bug report see below.

You said your router utilises UPnP. Perhaps it doesn't work very well. Something is definitely blocking your incoming. Would you consider manually forwarding a port? Up to you!

If yes, see http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm where you will find instructions under SMC on the far right of the page. To do this you must have a static ip for it to work. Instructions are included to do that at the above link under your model.

Steps are:
1. Set up a static ip. 2. Forward port 6346.
3. Within LW: Manual port forward instructions & sample image & 2 posts after that.

They're refering to locks on each option. If you press the pencil icon (or equivalent) then this will unlock the row so you can type into it. Perhaps your version of router support softw is newer & the icon is different. There will most likely be some kind of icon there. Oh upon re-reading it, it looks like perhaps a single icon somewhere (might not be on the right-hand side as they say) which unlocks the ability to change the figures. (I was getting confused with mine which is a different brand.)

oh lol i made a typo on the msg it was supposed to be "but" not "by"

i kind of clicked the pencil icon but it didnt let me edit anything but anyways i found the start and end ip editing thing, but im not sure what they mean by "choosing an IP thats out of the range"... step 7 is like completely confusing... so it would be cool if you could translate it into something simpler

Salut QueenIria, what you have to do is to let the router assign some IP to computers that don't want DHCP addresses by not allowing the router giving IP addresses from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.155 which is the range the router understands.

That means you should set start IP to something like 192.168.0.10 to end IP 192.168.0.155. That means you can give a static IP for your computer (in your windows xp config) from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.9

Is that clear?

Bonne chance
