Angry Incomplete files

Whenever I download music or movies especially, it starts out well and I keep previewing to make sure it is downloading correctly. But at some point through the download I preview it and it only shows the first minute or to of the song or movie. I then check the library and check the incomplete file. The megabytes is correct with what I have downloaded so far but the duration is only a fraction of what it should be. Also the incomplete preview appears in the incomplete folder in red. Please help this is extremely frustrating. My email is ****

Any help would be great.

You can only preview as much as you've downlded; eg: you downld 2% of a 100 min video, then you'll only be able to preview 1st 2 mins.

Keep in mind that when you preview a video it created a preview file in the incomplete folder which should later be deleted (has the name PREVIEW in front of it.) This preview is a snapshot of the moment you 1st previewed it. It will not change in size. If you later do a preview after the file has downlded more than the size & length will be greater. Preview files are not shared & do not have a corelation to the source & so might be coloured red. An incomplete file sometimes takes on the size of the complete file despite it's not totally downlded (usually seems to happen with videos.) Just follow the downld % you see in the downld window.

Default Still having trouble

I know all about how much I can preview but the problem is that when the download is finished and I try to play it in quicktime it just shows a small "preview" even though the entire thing is downloaded and complete.

Angry Still Having Downloading Problems

THE BEST WAY I CAN DESCRIBE MY PROBLEM IS THROUGH AND EXAMPLE. I AM DOWNLOADING A 181MIN MOVIE AND EVERYTHING WAS GOING FINE. I PREVIEWED IT EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE AND IT WAS PROGRESSING NICELY. THEN WHEN IT WAS AT 40% I PREVIEWED IT AND IT SHOWED 2 MINS OF FOOTAGE, ONLY A FRACTION OF WHAT I HAD BEEN PREVIEWING BEFORE. SO I EXPLORED THE INCOMPLETE FILE AND IT SAID THAT IT WAS AN 80MB MOVIE WITH A DURATION OF ONLY 2 MIN EVEN THOUGH 20 MIN BEFORE WHEN I PREVIEWED IT, IT HAD BEEN A 75MB MOVIE WITH 15 MIN DURATION. NOW EVER TIME I GO BACK AND EXPLORE MY FILE IT INCREASES A LITTLE IN DURATION. IT IS UP TO 2:24. PLEASE HELP THIS IS PISSING ME OFF AND IF I DONT GET HELP I WASTED 20 BUCKS GETTING LIMEWIRE PRO WHEN I COULD HAVE GOTTEN KAZZA FOR FREE AND IT WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY WORKED.

QuickTime player is not reliable for previewing movies. Not unless you have the appropriate codec/plug-in such as divX or others. I've suffered the same identical problem as you with QT player but when I previewed the video with VLC, no such problems. Get VLC here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose nearest mirror site)

For LW support (they don't use phones there, they use mirrors or smoke signals lol ) use service@limewire.com to email them.
