![]() Whenever I download music or movies especially, it starts out well and I keep previewing to make sure it is downloading correctly. But at some point through the download I preview it and it only shows the first minute or to of the song or movie. I then check the library and check the incomplete file. The megabytes is correct with what I have downloaded so far but the duration is only a fraction of what it should be. Also the incomplete preview appears in the incomplete folder in red. Please help this is extremely frustrating. My email is **** Any help would be great. ![]() I know all about how much I can preview but the problem is that when the download is finished and I try to play it in quicktime it just shows a small "preview" even though the entire thing is downloaded and complete. |

![]() THE BEST WAY I CAN DESCRIBE MY PROBLEM IS THROUGH AND EXAMPLE. I AM DOWNLOADING A 181MIN MOVIE AND EVERYTHING WAS GOING FINE. I PREVIEWED IT EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE AND IT WAS PROGRESSING NICELY. THEN WHEN IT WAS AT 40% I PREVIEWED IT AND IT SHOWED 2 MINS OF FOOTAGE, ONLY A FRACTION OF WHAT I HAD BEEN PREVIEWING BEFORE. SO I EXPLORED THE INCOMPLETE FILE AND IT SAID THAT IT WAS AN 80MB MOVIE WITH A DURATION OF ONLY 2 MIN EVEN THOUGH 20 MIN BEFORE WHEN I PREVIEWED IT, IT HAD BEEN A 75MB MOVIE WITH 15 MIN DURATION. NOW EVER TIME I GO BACK AND EXPLORE MY FILE IT INCREASES A LITTLE IN DURATION. IT IS UP TO 2:24. PLEASE HELP THIS IS PISSING ME OFF AND IF I DONT GET HELP I WASTED 20 BUCKS GETTING LIMEWIRE PRO WHEN I COULD HAVE GOTTEN KAZZA FOR FREE AND IT WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY WORKED. ![]() QuickTime player is not reliable for previewing movies. Not unless you have the appropriate codec/plug-in such as divX or others. I've suffered the same identical problem as you with QT player but when I previewed the video with VLC, no such problems. Get VLC here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose nearest mirror site) For LW support (they don't use phones there, they use mirrors or smoke signals lol ![]() |
