Default what ports does LimeWire Use??? (((TCP or UDP or Both)))??

i have to config the ports with my router for lime wire....so does lime wire use TCP or UDP or BOTH for port #6346

i'm assuming that since shareaza uses both UDP and TCP that limewire does the same. If you find out differently please tell me.

yes i have found out that limewire does use TCP and UDP

Yes it does!!! And depending on your modem/router, it's best to do an individual port forward for each one rather than both at once. Yes you can do this (both at once) & it will often work but individually it'll be better (more reliable to do them separately!)

Default PLEASE HELP! ....need help findin the right ports to use...OPTIMUM ONLINE USER....

hello i've had a few problems with OOL blocking certain ports...and due to the fact that LIMEWIRE is located in NYC where Optimum Online does exist...can someone please tell me the best ports to use for TCP and UDP to get the maximum speeds for upstream and downstream...

i use OOL...(optimum online)

my max download speed is between 4kB/s and *15kB/s

*if im lucky

please me....

P.S. port 6346 does not work PERIOD...


and yes i have a router and yes i have configed it correctly and no i do not use the WINDOWS XP firewall...
my firewall is perfectly configed to the ports aswell...

my upstreams and downstreams was workin perfectly until last week...

If you're going to manually configure your ports then you must also make adjustments within LW:
Manual port forward instructions & sample image & 2 posts after that.

Other ports to try, well here's a start: port 3500, 1203, 20282, 80.
