Waiting on busy hosts
 

Im trying to download some files that only one guy has got. Ive chatted with himn and he said its fine to download them, but when I try all I get is Waiying on bust hosts nd it doesnt download.

Please help...

please help us .... how long have you waited? ... do you know how many files he is sharing? I have just waited well over 1/2 hour for a busy host. The file is coming through now which actually was a pleasant surprise as this host is sharing an inordinately large number of files.

What exactly causes a host to become 'busy'?

that could mean a number of things, a) they are being bombarded with download requests, B) They are busy on their computers and dont want to be disturbed or, it could just be the host is not avaible at that time. ;)

I didn't reply before what with car maintenance, etc ... followed by an extreemly sucessful LW session (which does not seem to by everyones experience recently!)
which would not have occurred had I not been able to browse one particular host. ....

Ok I'm new so I'm just learning and I've read some posts here already but I could've missed something.

Here's a problem: I'm trying to download something that's 506.7KB (big file, I know). So I started downloading TWO DAYS AGO!!! I downloaded, went to bed because it was late, got up and it was at 2% and I tried to hit "resume" many times after getting "waiting on busy hosts" too many times!! This is so frustrating!!! Well yesterday morning it was at 2% then I got frustrated then j ust stopped it and started over again and last night, it was still 2% so it's not moving at all. It's still "waiting on busy hosts" and I tried to hit "resume" but it doesn't help. It's been two days and it's stil at 2%!! What do I do??

Search for more hosts & hope there are more people who have that file. ie: search the file topic again. You might be lucky & find other sources for the file & who have open slots. Busy hosts means they are busy uplding to other people & don't have any available slots at that time. Perhaps even try at a different time of day or week as those other people downlding might not be online at that time & hope the sources are. ie: They might not be so busy uplding to others at other times. Plus at other times there might be others who have that file & are online.

how do I search for more hosts?
