Seeing wrong programs when downloading

Let me start off by saying i have no idea if this has been posted before, and do not know what to search for to look, so if it is please direct me to the thread.

When ever looking for programs on limewire pro, and it seems only for programs, i find hundreds of anything i look up, but they are all False. almost everyone i see is exactly 851.7KB, i've been foolish enough to download once and all the folder contains is a .exe of Setup.. i've never ran the .exe though.

it gets annoying because i find less and less of actual programs and just more spam/junk, im wondering if i should block the host, but im not sure if it is from one person or not. if anyone could assit me it would be considerably appreciated.

also, if LW does not fix this, they will lose a lot of support, it is rediculous, probaly an easy fix too, so do it already.

the nework is ran by the users. LimeWire LLC does not control, monitor or endorse any messeges or content on the network. so there is no way for LW to remove those files.

however, just do a search for: 851.7 these are viruses spreading rapidly through the network. get a good antivirus program like avg (free.grisoft.com) or avast (www.avast.com) (they are both free and great.) stay away from these files, and keep your virus definitions up-to-date.

LW has nothing to do with the search results you get...

My advice about finding things that are 851kb is to ignore them - at the least they are spam, at worst they could be a virus. The best thing is to know roughly the size of the file you should expect, and never download anything which is much less than that.
