I installed the new version 4.9. but encountered this problem...
i try to dl files but everytime i click on it..this msg appears...
"Limewire is unable to find a license for this file. Download anyway?

Well yes that means the particular file you're interested could be copyright. So, you take the risk upon yourself to downld it. Sharing copyright files is not legal in some countries. See Licence requirement (click on link)

but its not a particular file...it happens to all files...

Weedshare also has non-copyright material as do a other people who share their own material.

If you Google "non-copyrighted music", you will find sites that offer free "legal" d/ls but they might not be what your looking for.

Yes everyone gets the same message. It's for legal reasons. LW is not responsible if someone uses it to d/l copyrighted material. But if you click no you won't be doing much d/ling.

The licensing was introduced in LW 4.9 to cover LW's back legally. Perhaps you didn't hear about the recent court case regarding p2p sharing of copyright material.

hmmm...i still feel unease when i saw the msg...is there any way i can dl back the older version 4.8?
