how come when i download a file it tells me limewire can't open it for security reasons

theres a licence thing agreement, just uncheck it in the settings so it doesnt comeup anymore. I forget where its located under options. and if thats not it then what type of file are you trying to download???

i can't see that setting on limwire and it's a exe file i am trying to open

do you have a virus protection program to make sure the exe is not infested? that usually comes up if you are trying to open the file while still in Limewire, scan the file to make sure its not corrupt. never dl an exe file unless you scan it first.

i tried looking for th file on my pc but i can't find whee the limewire files go on here

LW sensibly won't automatically open files that could contain a virus.

You have to open them manually (click the Explore button in the Library to find the directory where they were downloaded).

As you have probably guessed, it's a good idea to check them with you virus software first.

and dont forget, scan for viruses before downloading any exe!!!
