![]() A person on a broadband forum posted this: WinXP SP2 introduced a TCP/IP connection limit of 10 half-open connections, which results in the <<EventID 4226: TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts>> error message in your System Log. I haven't found a workaround for that, but to be honest - it sounds like this may be the issue you're having -- it's not related to the modem or bband itself, but good ol' MS WinXP. Maybe this is why when you try to download a lot of files at one time, they get throttled back? I tried 9 files at one time, and they all went full speed. And I do download every patch Microsoft comes out with. Any way around this? |

![]() Here's a 3rd party patch which fixes the issue http://www.lvllord.de/?url=tools You can only downld as fast as your sources allow. And according to your own bandwidth & settings. Remembering there's probably other people requesting the same files from the same sources.

![]() i checked my event log and found the same error. i dl and ran that patch, and so far (its been about 10 minutes) limewire is functioning correctly. i was experiencing the same prob as everyone else with high cpu and ram usage. the wierd thing is taht limewire is still using the same amount of cycles and ram, but now eerything else isnt slowing to a crawl like it would when i ran limewire before. its still sorta slow, but thast just because its written in java ![]() as with other solutions this may or may not work for everyone else, but worked for me. |
