Default ...crackdown Thread...

I've read and read and attempted to find some information on this subject so I would'nt be thrashed for asking this, but I couldn't find a thing and I'm sure that other users would like to know this valuable information...

I dont know the "Top Dogs" on this forum due to this being my first post and rookie status, even though I've used Limewire for a few years and just found the forum, but could you guys consider this...

_______________

There should be a Vital thread that users can use to share information on I.P.s to block, or keywords that should be entered to be blocked so that it doesn't cause a problem to downloaders.
Like the infamous "851.7 KB" Loser whom they should allow certain file sizes blocked also... That is one of the major problems faced by everyone using Limewire. Or that other loser that when downloaded, it gives you a picture of an Ipod...

Is there anyway of consolidating this problem to one Sticky thread and everyone consults through that, and the only posts allowed would be posts that the user lists a keyword to block or some type of help. Not questions or opinions, just all out help.

There are stickies at the begginig of each forum and also the rules, each stickie is titled accordingly, but still a lot of people choose to ignore them, so why if their put into one big stickie would you think that would make a difference, it would make it worse because they would have to search their way through it, to find an answer and speaking of search they have that option as well...
Also I wouldnt consider calling anyone a looser, that is searching for an answer to a problem, thats what the forum is for, it would be a pretty boring place if it were your way, as the people on here volunteer their time and sometimes you can get a bit of a laugh from some of the posts and eventually if you hang around long enough you come to relise that there are some pretty cool people here.....

I'm sorry "wondering why"... I wasnt calling anyone on here a loser, I talking about the person on Limewire that, if you do a search for like a program or music file you'll see 851.7KB... Its pretty much a virus and if his I.P. is listed or if you could block certain sizes we wouldn't run into this problem... I see on the newer version that you can now block file sizes so I apologize for this thread. But if the members here could say, "Yeah, also block the symbol % and # because they have virus'...

That's what I was meaning... I was refering the term "idiot" to that guy that puts out the 851.7KB files with virus'...

Well I do not know that Idiots, Losers, Stupid, is the proper terminology to use when referring to people who spread these files other than the ones that do it intentionally then I can think of some more choice words for those individuals.

I think naive is more of an appropriate word. Most of the people that spread these DL them then open them and figure they are just a bad file. They do not even think to do a virus scan on there files before opening them. Then instead of deleting them they just leave them sitting there for others to DL at this point I would call them idiots. One problem is that people share there incomplete folder.

I believe that the Developers of LimeWire should remove this option from the software while it does help get new files out to the public faster it also helps spread viruses and spam. When it was originally developed there were not as many users and or viruses and spam on the net and was a great way to speed up the file sharing process but I believe it's time has passed and should be removed.

Im sorry, I thought you meant the person who was asking a question about virus files, my mistake and I do apoligize...

Grandpa good point, I didn't even think of that, sharing the incomplete folder can cause the spreading of infected files....
Im off to change my settings as I allow this function on my LW...
Maybe they can add that point in the sticky about viruses...
