I dont know if this the right category, but i couldnt find anywhere else to post. See... i went to a friend's house yesterday, and i saw him downloading 5 songs at a speed of 21 kb! now that caused me to wonder, "how come he has a speed of 21 kb using a centrino laptop, while my speed only stays at 4- 6 kb using an everex pentium 4?" i tried to ask him, but he wouldnt tell me. so i decided to go here, please tell me how to get a speed of 21 kb, all helpful feedback will be appriciated.

Dunno - I supose he must have a slow internet conection, those sort of download speeds are lower than best result from a 256 DSL system. Your speeds would point to a dial up connection.

Does DSL require a cable, coz he always plugs a cable. But i think its dial up coz he uses an internet card and he still dials before he connects. oh yeah, i am using dial up with a SoftK56 Data Fax Voice Speakerphome CARP modem.
