hey thanks for all the great advise on this forum but none of the options have worked for me i have a 2 meg tiscali dial up broadband and lime wire worked perfectly for several months untill it crashed and now it downloads at either 0 or 1 kb a second i mean before this happened i was over all downloading between 300 and 400 kbs a second now it is five i have tried uninstalling it and starting again but that did not seem to work so what can i do!!!!!!

Tiscali is known in some parts as shaping p2p bandwidth. They may have started doing it to you.

What speeds?
It does sound to me like it's your ISP which is at fault. The magnet links is a good test for that.

they are either 10 kps or lower wot do i need to do then wots wrong with my isp.
i av got a different one as this was needed to get xbox live but it worked for a while with that it is only since it crashed.
also a few months ago tiscalli moved me to a heavy users thing but that is only durig peak hours but this problem is all the time!!!!! it was around then that is crashed!!

ry deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)
See if that makes any difference.

wow it seems better i mean one has only two hosts and is downloading at 16 kbs thank you!!!!

ok this seems all well and good for downloading 1 thing at a time but when i try and download more than one they can only find 2 hosts and overall will only download at 15 kbs a second is there a limiter on my computer.

same thing has happened to me. tiscali have posted info on their site to tell you that any file sharing speed will be reduced between 18:00 and 23:00. just tried a download now (23:50) and its still as bad!

I have been with Tiscali for ages and had no problem my problems started with buying Pro. I have downloaded the Magnet file and it is ok. I think it is Limewire that is at fault somewhere up the line here.
