Moderators

There are senior members on the forums who serve as Moderators. These volunteers keep the board organized and moving.
Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity)
Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum.
Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules.
Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted.
Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender.
Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration.

The Rules

1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement.

2. Spamming and excessive advertising will not be tolerated. Commercial advertising is not allowed in any form, including using in signatures.

3. There will be no excessive use of profanity in any forum.

4. There will be no racial, ethnic, or gender based insults, or any other personal attacks.

5. Pictures may be attached to posts and signatures if they are not sexually explicit or offensive. Picture sample attachments in posts must not include copyright infringement.

6. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other threads and see where your post will go. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem.

7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required.

8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning.

9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online.

10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents.

11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection.

12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit or used for commercial advertising. Commercial weblinks cannot be used under any circumstances and will result in an immediate ban.

13. Dual accounts are not allowed. Cannot explain this more simply. Attempts to set up dual accounts will most likely result in a banning of all forum accounts.

14. Video links may only be posted after you have a tally of two forum posts. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam.

15. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues.

Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis.

Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. We hope your visit is helpful and mutually beneficial to the entire community.

Default actually abit of critics.

not being ruud nor disrespectful.
you shouldn't try to advice someone while you are actually a newbi to what you are advising especially when you name them "this guy" rather than their nickname. the only right advise was not to mix up codec packs.which i discovered the hard way long time ago.

am a complete active afterward member. and cleaning up your pc wont do any good nor will it give you lots of results when u search for a file. the logical expanation for this is that

there are not so many anime fans that are Lw users so there wont be so many source for you file. and there only source u might get could just decide to disconnect. so u would probably not a have a complete file.LW is known to be first but not good in searching.LW is the best for downloading music and movies.lets say that limewire was far better when it was java free. java is just making things worse.

now trying to use torrent files would have being a far better advise. especially when u are looking for a whole series. it's way reliable and would find the file u are looking for 98%

now that i have cleared up things there's nothing left than to thank you from repling.

BTW the following LW beta series will have torrent support! And re: searching .. like any tool or program .. you need to learn how to maximise its effectiveness. After almost 5 yrs of LW I think it's fair of me to say that. As far as Java goes, afaik LW has always used Java, particularly since close to 90% of it is designed using Java.

As far as animes go ... murasame is the best one to ask ... but he's been busy with university studies overseas. Vary your searches as to the criteria. Yes there's good animes available thru torrents. And soon they'll be in their greater numbers on gnutella.

Unhappy Excuse Me for Leaving Out Your Nick

animemanga boy

I am sorry for being so caught up in trying to help you step in the rite direction that I failed to name your Nick.
(Please Forgive Me)
But know that I gave you sound advice & it's from a person who was just responding to your request for direction.
We've all been there.

I said "I was New to P2P"
But I'm not new to computer Building nor Virus/Malware removal.
Don't take this as bragging because I am just responding to being called a Newb!
Rather I am a Network Admin/Security Consultant for 3 Brokerage House's & Numerous Private Clients in N.Cal.(Bay Area)
So by no means am I a newb.

The Advice I gave for 90% CPU consumption & Codec Probs was solid advice,if it wasn't someone other than yourself would be saying so.
I would not advise on something I know nothing about!
As for the Codec Issue well I have first hand Knowledge of it because a long time ago(I did the same thing)
When I see someone who is having the same issue I've had in the past & I know the fix,I just want to help!
I guess it's due to the time it took for Me to find the fix(without help).
It's kinda like watching a guy look for something when you know rite where it's at(your like Dude it's rite over there!)

Really You should let go of your anger towards Me & move on to the 90%CPU consumption?
Does it only do it while Limewire is running ?
There are question's like that which I didn't see answered & if they were then I missed them.
Try not to find fault in my help, advice or questions but rather, supply info as this will help You find the Problem.
There are Basic T-Shooting steps that can be taken to pinpoint the culprit.
But if your Hostile towards Me then maybe I better back off (No Bigg)

PS;
On My PC with Limewire downloading a Movie, MPC.v6.4.8.9 playing a Movie, Ewido4 & Task manager running.
My CPU still only pulls 29%-33% (jpeg included for verification)
Here are my stats so you will Know I dont have some Super Box.....

I Have A Old(FIC-AM35)-(perfect for P2P,no big loss if it blows)
Amd Xp Athlon(Palomino)1700+
Running @ 1.46 Ghz & MMX(+) 3DNOW(+) SSE.
640 Mb Of PC2700 DDR

Fresh Install Of
WinXPproSPII
Java 1.5.0_06
Limewire 4.12.3Pro

On a "Cellular Tech" Clearwire Wireless Modem @ 1.5Mbps
Behind A Belkin F5d5231-4 Router With Port Forwarding Enabled.
Realtek Rtl8139 Fast Ethernet Nic

80gb Western Digital /as Master
80gb Seagate /as Slave

128mb Nvidia Gforce3 Ti 200

No matter how hard one tries someone's toes allways get steped on!
Political Correctness aint it a *****!

Default no hard feelings

no hard fellings really i do thank u for taking ur time to reply my quest. i learnt so much from tha first time i posted in this forum. ok here comes my favorite part in reply.

i never said u were a newbi in computers but p2p as u even said it urself.+ it doesn't matter how good u are in pc and viruses. p2p is different/has nothing to do with it and doesn't require much knowledge.

the reson why am doing this is no one actually told me what i wanted to hear.no matter how fasts u make LW &how many time u upgrade it the speed will depend mostly on the individual uploading the file u r downloading. + making ur pc completely free of any malfunction like i did would ABSOULTY NOT GIVE U GOOD RESULTS WHEN U SEARCH LW. and am trying to avoid it from happening to other people. LW has few results on animes. it's on top when it comes to music and velocity.

so i find it hard to understand the connection of u knowing about pc building and viruses with me wanting more search from LW.

lastly. am in a state where i should be helping rather than receiving it. so it's better if u keep ur baby steps.(no hard feeling)

and u should be running ewido and LW at the same time.

well i thank u again for taking ur time to make things clear. i dont have any anger towards you neither feel u answered wrong. i just have a differnt point of view.

Thumbs up 100% CPU Using PC,The Bomb!

Your trying to Insult Me & you have .
You dont want help, you want to throw Cynicism back & forth .
You win because I fell for it !
If I seem Angry it is because I am now.
Yes they are the most basic steps & I am suprized that you cant see that they will help you fix a obvious problem.

So I'll baby-step My *** back & you can continue running your PC at constant 100%CPU pulls,& it wont be long untill either your (CPU / PSU / RAM) blows chunks.
Thats all I was trying to point out;

"A person can't run a PC at 100% CPU usage like that for too long with out felling it"
Wait could that be what your feeling ?

So when it Blows, all you will have to do is
Baby-Step down to the store & get a new one.

PS:
I dont run Ewido & Limewire & a Movie & Browse the Net all at the same time come on Dude.
I was just trying to show you that with all that stuff running I still didn't pull down even a 50%CPU usage!
And the reason I used an Anti-Virus Program is because we all know they are CPU Intensive.
But I didnt realize that I needed to cover every lil word so that you don't find a way to insult Me.
Never Mind Dude, I wont respond to your post anymore.
Besides w/Clearwire I'm barely pulling in 112KB/s with 10 host's on a 700MB File . So surely I couldnt know too Much rite!
Good Luck
