When i search for music i will enter the artist name hit enter and over the search box on the screen you will see the artist name in a small box that slowly starts filling in like when downloading some thing on the net. once the box is full nothing appears in the search results box that is above the downloads box. lime wire used to work fine but now i am having this problem. i have tried reinstalling and it is still not working. can anyone help?

I've been having the same problem! I just installed Limewire 2 days ago. For the 1st day and a half it was unbelievable! I was getting several "hits" per search and had no trouble downloading. Now, none of my searches work at all. I'm still connected to the internet, and I can see that I am still able to download with respect to files that had already begun but now are queued. Any thoughts anyone?

Something you could try is to go to LW>Tools>Options>View>Popups and click the "Revert to default" button. But be aware, the next time you try to download a file you might be asked about "license". Make sure you click Yes when asked to download anyway.......
Look also under Filter>Configure Content Filter whether you've enabled the content filter. If so, disable it and click "Apply" (which you should always do when changing the configuration of LW before clicking OK)

Don't forget to have LW completely closed if deleting the preferences folder!

I tried everything and realised that it was that d a m n noton internet security thing! I totally forgot about it.... anyway LW is up and running....... ;D
