P2P is short for Peer 2 Peer eg: file sharing.... It's becomming more common that ISP's will filter or shape p2p/file shareing apps like limewire either to conserve bandwidth or to try to control the sharing of copyrighted material.

But consider this too.
My connection speed dropped massively, but my classmates' didn't. Not one of them!!! Furthermore, they use the same ISP company as I do!

Try deleting the limewire preferences folder(while LW is closed) point 2 & 3. Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should!
