If your PC starts to really slow down, you could try reducing the number of files you're downloading at once. Also disabling ultrapeer capabilities (tools > options > speed) might help a little. Reducing your upload & download bandwidth a bit could also help. Have you seen this thread about optimising LW? It's got some good hints Configuring LW for best performance
