Are you getting an error message? I don't use WMP (I use iTunes) but just as a test I tried & can play songs over & over without a problem. Are you playing from the main media library or from a playlist you've made?

Sorry, I'm probably not going to be much help from here on:o

You are being a BIG help (believe me). this is what I get:
Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline.

Does that answer your question?.

I make a list of songs, give it a file name and save to the folder. Then I do what you said about getting it into the "Playlist"

Check out LOTR's post #10. I don't know this problem but he does! Maybe you should move your downloads as he suggests & see how it goes!

Also the songs are being saved as .m3u and not .mp3 believe me it's driving me nuts

Which program is saving as m3u files? m3u files are simply playlists as birdy suggested. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...&highlight=wmp

Your downlds will be in your downld folder. That's where your mp3's etc. are. What I was suggesting was move them from there to your Music folder & then add them to WMP's playlist. For fast & easy access, go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link) & the folder will open up for you.

Let me put it this way;
I have the Limewire Basic (not the paid version). I choose a few music selections and then move them to the area to be saved (Enqueue). After this I save as (give it a name) and it is saved to either a "Misc.Music" folder I made or now (as was suggested) in the "My Music" located in "My Documents".
Windows Media Player is set up to read from either of these locations. After playing the selection it reverts back to being unable to be played on Windows Media Player. In otherwords it doesn't remain as "playable".
The files remain in the folders and upon checking them I find they are .m3u and NOT .mp3
I have tried using different "converters" but without success. I have tried following the instructions here about "burning a CD" and no success there either (won't load the files to be burned because they are .m3u)

Now with all that said, y'all know what I'm up against and why I'm pulling what little hair I have left out.

In closing I would like to ask if Lord of the Rings could send me a copy of his avitor. I (and the wife) love the humor of it.

Go to LW's menu bar, Tools->Options->Saving & that will tell you the location of your LW downld folder. Unless your downld folder location has changed then that's where your downlds should be. If you add a song or many to WMP from LW's playlist, then those song files must remain in that position permanently for WMP to be able to find & play them. So if you have moved or deleted those song files (mp3's) in the LW downld folder then that's why wmp can't find them or play them. ;)
