I'm just CONFUSED

Greetings all,
First of all I think this is a great find in music (recommended by a friend) but I'm a bit confused about something I hope someone can help me with.
I downloaded the "Basic" (thought I'd try it first), made a list or 2 and played them on the Limewire set up.
Problem is that now I have these files on my hard drive and I cannot play them through the Windows Media Player (.m3u).
I have researched it through Google and downloaded a couple of Codec Programs and I still can't get it right.
There has got to be a "simple" way to convert the .m3u to work in Windows and/or burn a disk for play in a car stereo...Please:confused:

m3u are playlist files that don't actually contain any music. You'll have to add the original files that you've downloaded to your player. Tools > options > saving will show you the location of your saved folder (by default it's C:/Documents and Settings/your name/Shared).
You can add these to your WMP by file > add to media library. Either search the computer or monitor the saved folder (this will add new songs to the media library after you've downloaded them):)

When you speak of Tools>Options you are referring to that in Windows Media Player or someplace else?. If I read this right then I have to find the song (downloaded from Limewire) and use it's link (URL) to get it on my "Play List" of Windows?. I have tried a few converter programs and I can play the list "once" in Windows but after that I cannot...

Tools > options within LW. Then within WMP file > add to media library etc. You don't need any URLs, just add the mp3/wma (or whatever format) files that you've got in your LW saved folder.

You're a bigger help than you can imagine-I can access the Tools>Options in LW but I'm a bit lost with the Windows Media thing. What you're saying is open the "tools>options" in LW and save the list where?
Then open Windows Media Player and the "tools>options" there too?. I opened that and I don't find the "Media Library" you speak of...
BTW, how is the weather down under?, here in Michigan (USA) it's a bit on the HUMID side at 75 degrees...

LimeWire first... tools > options > saving. This shows you the location of your saved file. Write it down somewhere if you like. Another easy way of finding your saved folder is within LW's library click on Saved Files & click Explore. This will open the saved folder for you:) You can do this if you want to drag & drop songs into WMP's media library as well.

Now in WMP click on Media Library. You'll see the green Add button at the top of the page. Click Add. Now you'll see different ways of adding songs to the WMP media library. If you want songs to automatically add to WMP after you download them do it this way:
Choose "by monitoring folders". Now add the name of your saved folder from LimeWire, click add next to it, then click ok. Whenever you download new song it will automatically be added to your WMP.

If you don't want songs to be added automatically, do it this way:
Click on the green Add, choose "by searching computer". Now you can click the Browse button & search for your LW saved folder. Once you've found your saved folder, click on the Search button & your songs will be added to WMP. And that's it, you're done:)

Weather's cool, about 10 Celsius this morning. Sunny days but we need some rain!

Got it, Thank You so much (Now if I can figure out whether I can burn with Nero). Praying for rain for ya

There's a lot of helpful info here about burning
Burning an audio CD from your mp3s

:D

Apparently I missed something because I go to play the music a second time and it won't play. Still on the "list" (Media Library) but won't play a second time

There's one thing that concerns me about this. Normally I would recommend people move their music downlds to their Music folder before adding to WMP's playlist. Otherwise if they make the mistake of deleting the files out of the LW downld folder or move them elsewhere then WMP won't be able to find them.

Also, if you're using WMP, don't use the Describe function on these files which is found in the LW Library window. There's a bug which corrupts the files in a way WMP can't play them. It seems to affect their playlist abilities. This only happens with WMP not other players.
