when it comes to downloads my kbs will go from 8 video downloads at a total of 250+kbs to about 4 kbs total for all downloads. it will stay this way and eventually go back up to speed. during this process it limewire tells me that i have an "excellent" connection. i have a cable modem and everything else runs fine.

limewire causes my computer to almost seize up. i will only be running limewire and maybe one or two internet windows at the same time. closing limewire takes forever. my computer works perfectly when limewire is not running. i have over 125 gig free on my computer so space is not an issue. i have no firewall so limewire should not have any issues w/ my computer in that aspect.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

i went to the website you suggested "magnet,,," and i downloaded and i could see the video

i do not know if that is what you wanted. the speeds were in the upper 190's but a few times i had to find another host.

when my l.w. starts up a red brick wall appears briefly near the world icon and the l.w. says it does not detect a firewall.

l.w. is making my computer very sluggish,,,even opening up "my downloads" or even the recycle bin causes the computer to go very slow. like i said earlier,,the downloads will be fast and then drop from 55kps to 1kps,,,,,
