Is the file going into the download pane? If it's not, you might have a license issue (click on link)

Default still having issue

Thanks, Birdy...

I corrected the license issue. However, when I select a file to download, click "Yes" to the license question, it just sits in "Connecting" status until it finally says "Need more sources".

I followed some of the advise about running the tests. I do not have a firewall issue and the speed test came out to by 7900kb/s or so. Is that good? I have no concept of what is good or not.

Any more ideas? It seems like the whole program is running extremely slow. I have restarted a couple times with no change. I used to have no problems. The downloads would go really quickly and rarely said "Need more sources".

Those things that sit connecting forever are fake files... they're all through the network. It's just a pain!
Typically, these fakes are new releases/very popular (but not always) & have lots of sources... up to 100.
Stay away from files that have huge numbers of sources, go for a file with 10 sources or less. Search again & vary your search terms - look for artist or album, rather than song title. Try the All Types search. If you're looking for video, check a file before download with Bitzi... if the file's been rated then you'll get an idea of content & quality (a video file with lots of sources but no Bitzi rating is often a fake).

Your speed looks pretty fast! Is it just your downloads that are slow? Has this just started happening lately? Who is your ISP?
Download a file from here & see what speeds you get

There's good advice here about setting up LW for best performance, see if that helps

I think downloading the ones with less sources worked. Curious, though, because before I started having this issue, I would have more success with the ones that had a lot of sources and the ones with less either took forever or always errored out saying "Need more sources".

Did something change with Limewire?

Well, either way, I appreciate your help!
