I'm in a dorm and we have a wireless network. im using a wireless card ad i have an HP. I try to download songs but its always has a low connection. what should i do?? please help

For a start the dorm probably shapes Gnutella bandwidth in a similar way to this: an example of how a p2p bandwidth shaper can work against Gnutella: Bandwidth Shaper Sample - typical of how some universities, schools & ISP's use it (click on link) ie: giving priority to net surfing & low priorities to p2p sharing.
As far as the wireless goes, I suspect you have no control over the device itself right? If yes, enable UPnP on it if it supports UPnP, else forward a port. If you have no control over the device then there's not much you can do. |
