Default I just cant get it to work

The First week i downloaded Limewire on my computer it worked fine, now after ive done somethings to get my AOL working right it seems to only go up to 10KB while downloading. I was getting way more than that. I have HughesNet satellite internet with a linkys version 5 router with speed booster.

Well Ive been reading on here for about 3 days, and think ive tried almost everything ive read.

I have the newest version of limewire... i redownloaded it today

My computer is a Compaq that is about 2 weeks old with Windows XP

I opened the Ports for the GNUTELLA Network via Windows Firewall, i got rid my aol and Norton programs, but it still reads that a firewall is up. I get the test worked when i see if the port is open. Have I read over somthing or forgot to do something. Is there a trick to get this thing working right that i need to know. Someone please help me!!!

If you are using UPnP to connect then try changing the listening port in Limewire to some high number (in the 50000-65000 range eg. 64049) Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewall Config

Then allow that port in both your Windows firewall and your Linksys router (if possible)

Is the router by any chance called WRT54G v5 ?

Search the word satellite on the forums. Many have firewalls you have no control over... the isp shapes uploading for p2p for many services. Not to say this is also your case.

BTW AOL has its own security options. Make sure they're turned off. Your own trusted firewall, av & spyware/adware programs can do a better job.

Try an experiment, try downlding a magnet link here http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml
Tell us what happens & what speeds you get.

You can try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) & see if that makes any difference.

OOps I'm slow posting! lol

BTW what type of speed booster is it?

This for a v4 but they might work the same. You can also compare this to your manual that came with the router or use Google to find the online manual

I am having pretty much the same problem too also using the WTR54G Linksys router nothing I have done seems to make the brickwall go away although I can download but at a real slow pace. Gonna try these setting see if they work.
