What the link was saying is there's organisations sponsored by the likes of the MAFIAA (previously known as the RIAA & MPIA), who deliberately flood the gnutella network with spammed fake files. You'll never download them. So normally the trick is: 1. Check the file with bitzi to see if it's listed, if not, then it's either fake or hasn't been posted about; How to use Bitzi Web Lookup 2. Try choosing those with 20 or less sources.
As far as your brick wall goes, it means you have a firewall problem. Did you configure your software firewall to allow LW full access? (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)
Also, what brand & model of modem/router do you use? Some have internal NAT firewalls. If these support UPnP then that should be enabled. If not, then forward (open) a port. |
