Does your burner start the CD and just not finish it? You could try using iTunes...a lot of people don't like using WMP because they have problems with it...

that is right. it won't finalize. i have noticed when it is copying at the end each song it doesn't rev up. i have only noticed that rev up on a couple of songs. so far i have wasted 4 blanks.

Why don't you give iTunes a try...click on the link above for the download page. If you don't have any luck, let us know the following:

1. Media used (brand, -R or -RW, speed compatibility)
2. CD writer used (brand, speed)

Are you able to use the drive for other functions, i.e. make a data disc?

Let us know if you're successful!

Default possible solution

i was at work when it dawned on me that quick time player is not only on my desktop but on the bottom right of the screen. dumb me , i didn't realize that this program was on all this time. i have shut it down. could it be that this was messing me up in buring cds? i know i always got an error message asking if i had another program running on the cd rom drive. i'll have at it again tonite .
