I'd still appreciate the help.
If I download movie files from LM and want to convert them to my ipod do I have to convert them as I would if I took a DVD movie and coverted it to my ipod or should it be able to go directly from LM to ipod? If I am going to need to convert the file, I am using DVDfab to do this for DVD movies but can't figure out how I would convert a file on my cptr because if I try to select a folder on my desktop for example where my LM vids are located it won't let me click into the file folder to select a movie which is why now I'm not sure if I need to convert the files or not. The short version is: I'm basically an idiot. |

No you're not
![]() I've never used DVDFab...are you sure it will convert movies for iPod? I've used Videora & 3GP converters. You'll need to convert the file to mpeg4 or H264 before it'll go onto your iPod. Have a look through this thread, there's info about video to iPod as well as music. Transferring music to iPod & iTunes If you use the forum search to look for video to iPod, you'll find other threads as well

To be honest, I couldn't make heads or tails out of that thread (and the one's linked to it). I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do....I'm running windows so I see there's different things I need if I'm on windows but couldn't make sense out of what I needed to do to get the LM videos to the ipod. I'm pretty lost.

Ok then, have a look through this thread. It's about using 3GP converter & 1337 gives some really good instructions plus screenshots. That's how I found out how to use 3GP. There's a link for download somewhere there as well. Have a try with that one & see how you go...it's really easy to use.
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...=&pagenumber=1 Just remember that if you haven't changed the default location of your saved files (where your downloads live), your files will be here: C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Shared. So that's the place you have to look for files when you want to add them for converting, or add them to iTunes etc. |

The link didn't open...this isn't going well at all. So I have to convert the files to what? mp4 I'm seeing alot, is that correct?
I guess I'll have to try and find something that'll do that. |

Alright, try this one. It's for Videora (free) converter. It's also pretty simple, let me know if you have trouble with it.
http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/ These are the settings I used & I had no trouble with volume or anything: Bitrate 128kbps Channels Stereo Sample Rate Input(default) Volume 100% |
