 You need the correct codecs for WMP to play movies...You can also get the VLC media player it has all the codecs already installed and plays just about every file... This sticky has a list of codecs and links available for download...If you choose to get the VLC media player choose the nearest mirror site...  CODECs list for Movies/Alternate players / Video help forums/ video-mp3 fixers
